Anier García de Cuba se regocija ante una muchedumbre de 100.000 personas, en el Estadio de Australia después de haber logrado el oro en las 110m barreras masculino, el 25 de septiembre de 2000 en los Juegos Olímpicos de Sydney. García terminó en 13.00 segundos, lo que pone un registro nacional. Los americanos Terrence Trammell y Mark Crear alcanzaron plata y bronce respectivamente.
